MID-ARGYLL: 5 Fieldfare at Slockavuillin this morning (David Pearson).
ISLAY: Mike Peacock saw an adult Iceland Gull with other gulls today fly past Port Charlotte.
TIREE: 1 Ruff and 3 Black-tailed Godwits at Loch a’ Phuill, 1 Wheatear at Hynish, 1m Blackcap, 5 Common Redpoll and 50 Redwing at Balephuil with 1 Water Rail in a garden pond there (John Bowler). 1 Wheatear at Heylipol, 1 Swallow and 2 Chaffinch at Vaul, 40 Redwing elsewhere around Tiree including 25 at Whitehouse (Jim Dickson).

11th October

TIREE: A Grey Wagtail and male Hen Harrier here after the rain stopped this evening (John Bowler). A Brambling at Sandaig today in a flock of Twite (Richard Whitson). A juv Black-tailed Godwit at Barrapol (Jim Dickson).

KINTYRE: A female Brambling in Alasdair Paterson’s garden in Carradale today.
ISLAY: A Juv Little Stint was at Machir Bay today with Sanderling and Ringed Plover (Gary Turnbull).
TIREE: 1CY Red-backed Shrike still at Heylipol church for its 17th day! 1 Greenland Redpoll, 7 Common Redpoll, 1m Blackcap, 1 Willow Warbler, 2 Chaffinch and 20 Redwing at Balephuil / Carnan Mor (John Bowler).  More groups of Whooper Swans (including 18 dropping in at The Reef) and Barnacle Geese dropping in (33 in 4 groups), 1 Wheatear at Balemartine, 1 Swallow at Vaul, 32 Redwings elsewhere (Jim Dickson).

ISLAY; A Leach’s Petrel on the crossing back from Islay this morning – also single Arctic Skua and Manx Shearwater (Dave Lamacraft).
TIREE: The long staying 1CY Red-backed Shrike is still at Heylipol Church but looking very wet/bedraggled in the heavy rain…(Jim Dickson).

TIREE: At least 1,000 Snipe around the island in groups of up to 120. 1 Greenland (NW) Redpoll with Linnets at the Reef (John Bowler).
KINTYRE: Eddie Maguire reports that the regular 1CY Mediterranean Gull was at the Machrihanish SBO again today (see pics).

TIREE: A sea-watch off Hynish (8:10 -9:15) produced highlights of – 1 Manx and 1 Sooty Sheatwater, 6 Arctic Skua, 2 Great Skua, 1 Arctic Tern, 2 Great Northern Diver, 780 large auks and 214 Kittiwakes (Jim Dickson).
MID-ARGYLL: A report this morning of a Lesser Whitethroat seen in a hedge at Tesco fuel station in Oban (Dave Lamacraft).
MULL: A large family of Whoopers today at Loch na Keal (Mike Murphy).

TIREE: 1 Lesser Whitethroat still at Balephuil – also 2 Chiffchaff, 10 Redwing, 1m Greenfinch, 1 imm Siskin and 1 Chaffinch new there (John Bowler). 2 Greenland (rostrata) Common Redpolls, 2 Wheatear, 3 Redwing, 1 White Wagtail, 6 Swallow and 1 Chaffinch at Balemartine. 1 Redwing at Hynish (John Bowler/Jim Dickson). 1 Goldeneye at Loch Riaghain, 3 Pink-feet and 4 Barnacle Geese at Loch na Faing, 2 Coot still at Loch Bhasapol and single Goldcrests at Vaul and Cornaigbeg (Jim Dickson).

TIREE: 1 Lesser Whitethroat still at Balephuil – also 3 Willow Warbler and 2 Blackcap there. A Goldeneye was new in at Loch a’ Phuill and 2 juv Black-tailed Godwit there (John Bowler). 1 Lesser Whitethroat still at the Glebe and a new Lesser Whitethroat nr Cornaig School (Jim Dickson). Several scattered groups (min of 40) of Greenland White-fronted Geese over S, also 52 Whooper Swans (John Bowler/Janet Hunter/Jim Dickson).

COLL: 2 adult + a juv White-fronted Geese arrived at Totronald today (Ben Jones per John Bowler).
TIREE: 1CY Common Rosefinch again at Balephuil – with 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1m Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest, 5 Redwing and ca 20 Common Redpoll. 1CY Red-backed Shrike at Heylipol church – also 1 Willow Warbler there (John Bowler).
MID-ARGYLL: A report from Bill Allan of a 1w Pine Bunting that visited his garden in Scammadale south of Oban on Tues 2nd Oct – essentially a Yellowhammer sized bunting with no yellow tones but showing a small white crown patch. The bird was elusive, and no photos obtained unfortunately.

TIREE: 1CY Common Rosefinch new at Balephuil this am – at times hanging out with a Lesser Whitethroat, also 20 Common Redpoll and 1 Goldcrest there (John Bowler). 1CY Red-backed Shrike still at Heylipol Church, 1 Scaup plus 2 Coot new at Loch Bhasapol and Lesser Whitethroat still at the Glebe (Jim Dickson).
